Dear AC members and observers
Find attached the preliminary draft programme for a Conference on the social mobility of young people, which will take place at the European Youth Centre, Strasbourg, on 30 June and 1 July 2010, organised by the Directorate General of Social Cohesion in co-operation with the Directorate of Youth and Sport. Also attached is a background paper which explains the reasons for holding this conference in the framework of the 2-year project on fostering social mobility as a contribution to social cohesion.
If you would like to participate in this conference or nominate a representative of another youth NGO working on this subject, please use the attached pre-registration form and return it to Lindsay Youngs, Social Cohesion Policy and Standards Division (Lindsay.youngs@coe.int) before 18 May 2010 (with a copy to me). It will be possible to cover the travel and subsistence expenses of a limited number of participants. This will be confirmed by the end of May.
The working languages of the conference are English and French, and I have the documents in French if anyone is interested.
